Sellers Story
We moved here 7 years ago and the first thing we noticed was the privacy – it’s really set back from the road at the front and the back garden is really private. The second thing was the potential – with such a good plot there was, and still is, potential for extending to increase the space. Also, we really like the area – with the excellent Mount Nod Primary School within walking distance and good secondary schools it’s really convenient. With the city centre being only a few miles away but with the open countryside at the end of Broad Lane you really have the best of both worlds!
We have enjoyed the transformation of renovating this home and making it somewhere we love spending our time. It’s such rewarding place to live and entertain.
We love spending time in the lounge room – it’s where the whole family is drawn to. Flooded by natural light all year round, with the bi-fold doors open in summer it’s the perfect ‘inside out’ room, makes it so easy for entertaining friends and family. Then in winter the stove is the perfect focal point for cosy evenings in. Lots of space for friends – many excellent memories of good times and music.
We have soo many memories to pick one particular one out – most of them include many balmy summer evenings entertaining. Like everyone we’ve really missed that this year.
We will really miss the garden – we love it all year round. Scorching summer days with the kids splashing in the water, frosty winter mornings, it’s such a fantastic space to enjoy, so private too. Also, we’ll really miss the stove – we didn’t have one before we did the renovation and wish we’d fitted one years ago. There’s really nothing like a good fire on a cold winter’s day. We will also miss the neighbours, they’re really lovely.
Living in the house has been an absolute pleasure. It has really worked well for us with the blend of open plan living and cosy spaces – its so flexible for living and entertaining.
We’re moving to be nearer family to take care of older relatives, we just hope we’ll be able to find a home that we’ve enjoyed living in as much as this one.
